Open Question: Is Media Studies at A Level considered a 'mickey mouse' subject by universities?

Hey Guys, Just in the process of choosing my A Levels and I heard Media Stdues isn't rated very highly by universities and maybe a bit of a mickey mouse subject. I was also wondering if Media Studies atall helps that much if you are looking for a journalism course at uni as Media Studies seems to be computers and not exactly journalism.
